A very long day leaving hotel in Helsinki at 5.45 am and arriving in Lumbarda on the island of Korcula in Croatia about 8.30 pm. 2 flights, one on Lufthansa from Helsinki to Frankfurt and then on Croation Airlines on to Split where it started to rain as we stepped out of the airport and poured for 2 hours with spectacular lightning.2 people on that plane had “Paris Hilton” dogs in little cases slung over shoulder and carried on as hand luggage-one of the dogs had its own seat on the plane and its owner had another poodle in a crate in the hold!! One kept yapping during the flight. From Split we had a 2 ½ hour catamaran trip, very smoth with a stop at Hvar and another smaller port, then via van driven in rally style by a 12 year old the 7 kms from Korcula town to our apt in Lumbarda arriving in time to see a spectacular sunset. Dinner and to bed.
